  • Sublime Text 3 - best text editor, hands-down.
  • Vagrant - for local development. VVV for Wordpress sites.
  • iTerm - nice terminal replacement.
  • Coda - IDE when I need a live preview for email dev, etc.
  • aText - textexpander alternative.
  • Git - for version control. Sometimes the SourceTree or Github app as well.
  • Github & Bitbucket - for git hosting, also ftploy for when I don't have ssh access :(.
  • Bower, Gulp, Grunt, Babel, etc - task runners to help with front or back end development.

Servers & Hosting

  • Media Temple - VPS hosting for small to medium sites.
  • WPEngine - Managed WordPress hosting or the larger or resource-intensive sites.
  • Amazon Web Services - s3, ec2, cloudfront and more for random storage or CDN purposes.
  • Backblaze b2 - cloud storage via api.
  • Transmit - for ftp/ssh needs.
  • Cyberduck - for random file mangement, particularly for aws.

Design

  • Sketch - for any web or digital design.
  • Photoshop - for the random inbetweens.
  • Illustrator - for more random inbetweens.

Writing & Content

  • Byword - simple, markdown editor app.
  • Grammarly - because sometymes i doesnt type good.
  • InDesign - for a Microsoft Word replacement.
  • Evernote - for notes and random junk.

Marketing

  • Mailchimp - for email marketing.
  • Moz.com - search engine optimization analytics and tools.
  • Excel - secretly a marketer's best tool.
  • Salesforce - crm and sales.

Productivity

  • Slack - chat for everyone.
  • Basecamp - sucks but it's simple enough for clients.
